– Testcserés horror a Freaky

The body-changing genre is horror-driven by Freaky and does it all successfully. Vince Vaughn can show what he can do as evil and also capitalize on his comedy skills. Body-twisting elements initially only appear in comedies or romantic movies, but now they’ve entered a horror as a basic element. And it turns out that this idea (i.e., the souls of two completely opposite personalities swap places in the other’s body) works very well in this genre as well. Of course, this also requires a great cast and a compelling arrangement that does not regret splashing.

Given a graduating teenager, Millie, who is a typical misunderstood student. Her peers make fun of her, a teacher is constantly grooming herself and she is having trouble at home as well. After her father’s death, her sister was buried in her work and her mother fled into alcohol intoxication. All this is compounded by the fact that a crazy killer, Böllér, hunting for the youngsters of the small town looks like his next victim, but the experiment takes an unexpected turn. The killer is the girl, while Millie wakes up in the Bicker’s body the next day. He only has 24 hours to do everything back, which is a difficult task when the whole city is chasing him.

It can be seen from afar that it was made under the supervision of producer Jason Blum. The very basic idea is a project that Blumhouse is happy to embrace, and the writer-director is Christopher Landon, who celebrates Happy Death! created in which the idea of a time loop was turned into horror. So on paper everything seems to be fine, but unfortunately the end result is not free of negatives either.

But let’s start with the good things first. Freaky’s greatest strength is Vince Vaughn, who works just as well in the speechless role of the crazy Böllér as his teenage daughter, trapped in a 2-foot body. Maybe I won’t shoot a big joke if I tell you that the second role will definitely bring in better moments. As this 2 meter guy runs squeaky and does the girly stuff … you just can’t help but smile at him. A great counterpoint is Kathryn Newton, who plays Millie, who smoothly transforms from a tearing teenager into a crazy killer. The two main characters make a big one, and the side characters also bring in the obligatory.

In terms of the execution of the murders, the makers did not restrain themselves. The film is definitely not recommended for younger people and those who don’t like stuttering blood, but anyone who loves something like that should have no reason to complain. What, unfortunately, is lost from the enjoyment value of the film is the script. The great baseline was filled with stenciled horror solutions. Anyone who successfully hides from the killer must die when he comes out to look around for some reason. The walking killer catches up with everyone, while in the same body, the “good-hearted” evil can no longer run or catch him.

The film is very long. Too long. Unfortunately, there are at least 15-20 minutes that could have been smoothly cut out and thus tightened the whole chase. Other than that, Freaky is a well-executed genre marriage, this time bringing the Not Fit in Your Skin style baseline to Scream. And again, Vince Vaughn is a good actor and a great comedian. At least what it took for this transformation brought it perfectly. 7,5/10
