Right away, the basic idea itself is pretty uninteresting. We go after the Civil War, Natasha is forced to flee because of her betrayal, until – by her – her sister, who has never been seen before, sends her some mysterious red chemical. As a result, he is forced to face his past and seek help from those he does not want. Of course, we know exactly what the fate of the Black Widow will be, so we’re not really excited about it. In addition, the fate of sister Yelena Belova, who will be seen in the Hawkeye series, is also familiar.
Plus, although Black Widow is the title of the film and from this we could deduce that we can learn about Natasha’s story, it doesn’t completely cover the events because her comrades get a lot more time than Nato. And unfortunately, it’s already the praise of Florence Pugh’s performance to play Scarlett Johansson off the stage in every common scene. Let’s say you’re not alone with that, as David Harbor, who plays the Red Guard, also steals the show from the Avengers.
However, with the captain of Soviet America, the makers did not know what to do and for me it was the most painful. This very simple but lovable, aging superhero hid many possibilities, as he himself admitted he had even beaten Captain America. The illogicalities unfortunately do not bother the makers, they bathe in them. And I wouldn’t waste a word on Rachel Weisz’s character because she doesn’t actually have a character.
The Black Widow does not excel in sight either. There are not too many promotions, of which Budapest is perhaps the most spectacular. However, the computer graphics are amazingly bad, measured by Marvel’s standard to be placed behind the Black Panther, which was also not a well-crafted piece. And the main villain … well, let’s just say that Marvel can still only create memorable evildoers step by step.
The Black Widow can be a disappointment for those looking forward to a spectacular action movie, but also for those looking to learn about Natasha’s past. Among the crappy sets, poorly written, dramatic texts are told to each other by otherwise good actors. You need more than that. And a huge pity for Harbor, who found the perfect figure for himself (or rather Marvel) and then they didn’t do anything with it. One goes, but it won’t be the new Iron Man … but not even the Ant. 5/10
