Several infrastructure projects in Zemun are planned

The City Municipality of Zemun has launched a series of projects aimed at improving the infrastructure that will contribute to the better life of the citizens of Zemun every day.

Reconstruction of 6.6 kilometers of sewerage network in the old town of Zemun is planned. The value of the works is 400 million dinars, and a tender for the selection of contractors is being announced Directorate for construction land and construction at the end of February, and the beginning of works will follow as soon as possible.

Also, in cooperation with Directorate for Construction Land and Construction of Belgrade the construction project has started concrete overpass in Batajnica, about 285 meters long and 12.5 meters wide.

The overpass will bridge the crossing over four tracks of the fast railway and the crossing over the roads in the settlement and will be located about 400 meters north of the existing railway crossing, according to the website of the city municipality.

Along with the overpass, this project also includes reconstruction and construction of more than 1,400 meters of surrounding roads. The construction of the overpass will reduce the number of accidents and incidents at the level crossings on this section, and the full flow will be achieved for both railway and road traffic.

During 2021, work will be done on the rivereconstruction of Main Street and Liberation Quay. It is planned in front of the municipal building erection of a monument to the former mayor of Zemun and the mayor of Belgrade Branko Pesic.

It is also planned to be built a garage on the plateau in front of the Pinky Sports and Recreation Center and the Lido-Kej oslobođenja pedestrian and bicycle bridge.
