Suara.com – The JK Records label has again proven that they are the home for musicians of all genres. After pop, rock and dangdut, JK Records now introduces its new artist, Tiga Mawarnih who carries fusion funk music.
Tiga Mawarnih is actually not a new band. The band consisting of Mudrikha (guitar), Franky (bass) and Riza (drums) has been established since 2006.
“The name Tiga Mawarnih (3 roses) means because we have three personnel. It is likened to three thorny roses, not ordinary roses, because our music is a fusion funk genre, not sweet pop,” said Franky, to reporters at the JK Records office in the Cideng area, Central Jakarta, recently.
Regarding the name Tiga Mawarnih, which sounded unique, Franky et al admitted that the name was a pun on the name of the famous jazz singer, Iga Mawarni.

“I’ll call it Tiga Mawarnih, uh, apparently I just remembered that there is a senior singer (Ms. Iga Mawarni), who in fact used to be an artist of JK Rercords. Well, we just played with it as Tiga Mawarnih. We also have permission with Ms. Iga,” said Riza.
Now, Tiga Mawarnih is back in the Indonesian music scene with his latest album entitled a which was released on November 18 last. There are 10 that are presented by Tiga Mawarnih in the latest album. One of his hits is entitled “Duka di Dadaku” featuring Nike Astrina.
Although the music presented is segmented, Tiga Mawarnih remains optimistic and never doubts his work. They are sure to keep playing with the chosen color.
“If we want to go viral or sell the song, we leave it to netizens and fans who will listen to our music. Just like Nirvana, the music used to be blasphemed a lot, we didn’t know it sold. The point is we continue to make music that matches our colors, our own market share,” said Franky .
According to Riza Tiga Mawarnih, this is a legacy for future generations in the history of Indonesian music. Although the basis of his musicality is rock, it is the diversity of musical backgrounds that makes Tiga Mawarnih still survive until now.

“So for 15 years the music we played was only this genre. We only delivered with music that became our identity. But in this album we were challenged to something different from the previous one by delivering the vocals,” added Riza.
Meanwhile, the boss of JK Records, Leonard “Nyo” Kristianto explained his interest in Tiga Mawarnih. Apart from having known each other for a long time, he is also amazed that with only three personnel (drums, bass and guitar), the music can be full.
“We also happened to have the right song sung by the late Nike Ardilla, ‘Duka Didadaku’. We tried to collaborate with Tiga Mawarnih’s music with fusion funk colors so that there was a contemporary feel,” said Nyo.
In addition to the song “Duka Di dadaku”, there are other master songs that are duets with Rahmat Kartolo and Pance Pondaag. The other nine songs include “Njelepet”, “I am looking for the Best Way”, “Njetuan”, “Kunanti Your Answer”, “Njeraden”, “Reken Reken Ketepu”, “Njedoro”, “Njeayu” and “Njejemiherje”.
