Goran Vesić, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, spoke yesterday in Bijeljina with the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović about the works on the construction of the highway Kuzmin-Sremska Rača, with a bridge over the Sava, as well as the continuation of cooperation in in the field of transport and infrastructure, it was published on the Government’s website.

Minister Vesić pointed out that cooperation in the field of infrastructure between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, Republika Srpska, has never been better and pointed out that in the next few years, Serbia and Republika Srpska will be connected by two highways and two expressways.
He stated that the first thoroughfare will be Sremska Rača-Kuzminapproximately 18 kilometers long, and announced that it will complete the bridge over the Sava to be completed by the end of the yearwhere we will have an integrated border crossing on the highway on the territory of Serbia, while on the old bridge there will be an integrated crossing on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Republic of Serbia finances 80 percent of the works, while 20 percent is financed from the budget of the Republic of Srpska, explained Vesić.
He reminded that work is also being done on the Ruma-Šabac highway, which will be finished by Septemberand work continues on fast road to Loznicawhich is also another connection with Republika Srpska and BiH, whose completion is expected by the end of 2024.
Vesić also spoke about the road to Badovinci, which will go to the Loznica-Šabac expressway and also represents another link between Serbia and Republika Srpska.
He stated that the design of the Požega-Kotroman road has been completed, while the highway to Požega is currently ending.
Minister Čubrilović pointed out that the Kuzmin-Sremska Rača highway construction project is very important and that the work is progressing according to schedule, adding that if some issues are resolved, such as the embankment from the river, the works can be completed even before 2025.
He stated that the relevant ministries will try to comply with the requirements of the contractors, as well as all those interested in this area, and pointed out that there are still some unresolved property relations, 2 percent of the total route, but that this will not be a problem that will be reflected in the planned deadline for completion of works.
