Sebastian Vettel admits he misses racing

Sebastian Vettel, retired, this year is spending time with his family away from the hustle and bustle of the paddock, and seems to be enjoying the opportunity to live in peace. However, the four-time world champion is ready to admit that he still misses Formula 1.

“So far I am quite satisfied with the decision made and everything suits me. Although most of all I miss racing, competition and the emotional stress associated with them, ”Sebastian shared in an interview with Bild am Sonntag.

This year, Vettel will again be piloting historic cars from his own collection at the traditional Goodwood Festival of Speed, however, according to him, this cannot replace the sensations that he has become accustomed to in 17 seasons in Formula 1.

“Goodwood is not a real race track, although it is still nice that I will be back behind the wheel for a while,” he stressed. But there is no talk of returning to the paddock yet: “At first it was somehow strange that I was no longer there, but gradually I got used to it and follow Formula 1 with great interest from the outside. I am very pleased with the success of Aston Martin, my former team, because for this we also worked hard in previous years. And it’s great that she has already won several trophies.”

Rumors that in the foreseeable future he may return to Formula 1, but in a different capacity, Sebastian did not comment. One of the recent versions was related to the fact that already this year Vettel can replace the 80-year-old Helmut Marko, becoming a motorsport adviser to Red Bull Racing.
