Seal invades the house, uses the sofa and traumatizes the cat – Mundo

A young seal has been returned to the sea after breaking into a biologist’s house and “traumatizing” the family cat, this Wednesday, in New Zealand.

Phill Ross, a marine biologist, said it was “a pity” that he was the only one not at home when the family found a seal inside the residence. “The big joke is that this would really be the only family emergency where it would be useful to have a marine biologist in the house. The Guardian.

According to Ross, the seal managed to enter the house through the opening intended for the family cat. He believes that Coco the cat “had gone to defend its territory and obviously the seal was not so intimidated, so Coco must have escaped into the house through the cat flap, and the seal must have followed him”.

The seal spent some time in the guest room, and on the sofa, before Ross’ wife Jenn managed to get her out the front door and out into the garden. A ranger from the Department of Conservation showed up at 10:00 am to take the seal back to sea after a busy morning of seal-related calls.

However, Coco, who had run away scared to a neighbor’s house, on returning to his own house, refused to go down because he was “clearly quite traumatized”.
