Scientific conference “Poetics of Miroslav Antić” within the project dedicated to literature for children and youth

GLORY followed his work from the beginning, and often went in front of him. This was pointed out by Professor Aleksandar Jovanović, who is the founder of the project “Poetics of Serbian Literature for Children and Youth”, at the opening of the scientific gathering “Poetics of Miroslav Antić”, at the Faculty of Teacher Education. Today’s manifestation is part of that project, and so far gatherings have been held and collections about Dusko Radovic, Grozdana Olujuc, Momi Kapor and Grigor Vitez have been published.

According to Professor Valentina V. Hamović, Antić is a poet of inspiration, intuition and strong imagination, but also of obsessive themes and motives:

– These are the themes of Vojvodina’s landscapes, love (eroticism), reflections on freedom and the meaning of existence, and childhood. The theme of childhood becomes the connective tissue of both his literary corpora. When he appeared with the collection “Told for spring” and “Your Christmas”, he brought the spirit of Vojvodina and the plain, in the deepest connection a social and patriotic tone – Hamović pointed out, adding that very soon, with the collection “Blue Sky”, especially the book “Curses of Tenderness” “Appearing as a man of sky, stars, wind and birds, this astral repertoire of motifs will then become one of the most common in his entire poetry, with a double sign – as a symbolic space of infinite space and freedom to which he aspires.

According to Nemanja Karović, a sentimentally sensitive, broken and tender, and once rebellious and Jakšić defiant, but always trembling and enraptured lyrical subject was placed in the poetic center of Antić’s earliest poems, whose riots and exaltations served as a basis on which to develop social themes. arched, and a palette of poetic motives divided by children’s experiences of war.

– In his collections intended for young people, Antić’s poetic subject takes the position of an adult guide who explains to the young reader the contradictions he feels in himself and in the world around him, encouraging him to explore his own path – explained Professor Zorana Opačić. – Basically, Antić builds his childhood construct on the weaknesses and insecurities of adolescent consciousness, not starting from the fact that this consciousness can be layered or, simply, different from his expectations. That kind of confidence is undermined and destabilized in “The Crazy Book”, by introducing the voices of adults and the voices of young people who testify to various types of relationships with parents, from partnership, understanding to a deep gap.

The “Blue Tuft” collection, Dr. Sladjana Jacimovic emphasized, clearly indicated that a poet had appeared who would sing – bolder, more openly and more suggestively – the time when the world awakens in the child, opens the space of adolescent unrest and trembling, acquires, confused and clumsy, first love experiences:

– Hence, it can be said with certainty that Miroslav Antić is the founder of love poetry for children, a writer who was the first from the collection to lyricize the vibrations of mental and erotic hints that mark the border of transition to the world of adults and a kind of farewell from childhood – concluded Jacimovic.

The PRESENCE of Antić in anthologies, singled out by Professor Jelena Panić Mareš, can be traced back to his beginnings, ie the anthology “Serbian Children’s Poetry” by Bora Ćosić from 1965. It was equally verified in anthologies compiled by poets (Radović, Zubac, Stanišić, Vitezović, Lakićević, Brajković), but also literary scholars (Pražić, Marjanović, Rosić, Opačić).

ALMOST half a century ago, in 1976, at the age of 34, Antić entered school programs and remained in them until today, reminded professor Valerija Janićijević:

– Since then, there has not been a single new, reformed program for class, ie subject teaching of literature, without this important and very popular poet being found in them, not in all classes, but in the majority. He thus fulfilled one of the basic conditions for a school writer: to address different generations with his poetry.
