Schools, the ecological and cultural transition is underway

07/07/2021 – The Technical-Scientific Committee set up by the Ministry of Education will meet for the first time on 12 July to implement ‘School ReGeneration’, the plan for the ecological and cultural transition of schools, presented last June 4th.

The Committee will have to identify the actions for the ecological and cultural transition, to be taken to schools of all levels, in line with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and theAgenda 2030 dell’ON.

The Plan – we recall – aims to educate the youngest, the new generations, to inhabit the world in a different way, thinking about the long term, paying attention to environmental issues, the sustainability of our economies and our lifestyles, designing new jobs that know how to look to the future while respecting what surrounds us.

Among the four pillars of ‘School ReGeneration’ is the regeneration of infrastructures, with the construction of innovative buildings and the creation of new learning environments. The Plan looks to the Italian school as a cultural infrastructure, as a center of communities, an existential and housing model, the place of origin of a new ecological and economic alphabet.

“This structure will allow the Plan to continue in the next few years, regardless of the current Government” – commented the Undersecretary of Education, Barbara Floridia, who added: “Environmental issues must be addressed with a long-term vision. We are working for real change, which will benefit future generations. Because environmental challenges require commitment over the decades “.

The same decree also provides for the establishment of the “Green Community”, a national network made up of representatives of public administrations, cultural, scientific and research institutions, non-profit and profit organizations, also of international importance, which will help the Ministry and educational institutions in the implementation of initiatives aimed at the ecological and cultural transition of schools .
