An eighth grade student died after falling from a tree while picking mangoes in Companyganj upazila of Noakhali.
The deceased Mohammad Ifaz (13) is the son of Mohammad Sohail of Shafiqul Alam Shaheed’s new house of Ward No. 7 of Charhazari Union of Upjera. He was an eighth grade student of the local Abu Majhir Hat High School.
The incident happened on Tuesday (30 May) afternoon at his own house in Charhazari Union of the upazila. Later, on the way to take him to Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, he died in Daudkandi area of Comilla at around 8:30 pm on the same day.
Charhazari Union Parishad (UP) Chairman AZM Mohiuddin Sohag confirmed the matter. He said that after returning from school in the afternoon, Ifaz went up to pluck mangoes from his own tree. At that time, while picking mangoes, he suddenly fell down from the tree and got a serious injury on his head. Immediate family members rescued him and took him to Upazila Health Complex. From there he died in Daudkandi area on the way to take him to Dhaka for better treatment.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Companiganj Police Station. Sadekur Rahman said, he has not heard of this incident but will inform after inquiry.
