Hockey players Kevin Klíma, Graeme McCormack and Martin Štohanzl from Mountfield Hradec Králové, the silver team of last season’s Czech extra league, tested positive for a banned substance in the past period.

Hradec Králové hockey players.
The Anti-Doping Committee of the Czech Republic informed the club about this on Monday. He suspended the professional contracts of all three players and they were removed from the team until the case was resolved.
In a statement on its official website, Hradec Králové clearly distances itself from similar activities by players and the use of any dietary supplements containing prohibited substances, even if it was an unconscious and unintentional violation of the rules:

“The club defends itself against such behavior and at the same time did not knowingly or unknowingly participate in this offense. The players were regularly warned as a precaution about the need to thoroughly check all dietary supplements for the presence of prohibited substances.
According to the players’ contract, they are obliged to consult the composition of all medicines and nutritional supplements with the club doctor before taking them. This is also done regularly, but in this case it did not happen for an unknown reason.
There was therefore an individual violation of this rule by the affected players.”

However, the management of the club continues to maintain contact with them in connection with their further progress and educational activities.
Following this doping finding, the club is intensifying its preventive and educational activities in the youth categories as well.
Due to the ongoing proceedings, the members of Mountfield Hradec Králové will not provide any further comments on this matter.
McCormack is also known to Slovak fans, before leaving for the Czech Republic he wore the jerseys of Nitra, Trenčín and Michaloviec.
