Men’s and women’s striped T-shirts from this unique series are made of technical hemp, which use significantly less water in their production than other textile materials. That’s why we save water with stylish t-shirts from Bohempi, because we are all “soaked” in it.

Boaters are a new limited collection from the Czech brand Bohempia, which are partly made of technical hemp. It is one of the most environmentally friendly materials in the world and is unique due to a number of other functional properties that it has, but also due to the method of cultivation and its simplicity. The cultivation and production of hemp textiles alone consumes much less water than other textiles, which are overused in the production of fashionable clothing. Bohempia is therefore looking for new alternatives to save our wardrobes and change the entrenched practices of wasting water in the fashion industry. Of course, he doesn’t want to sacrifice style, because it’s eternal.

As you know, the fashion industry plays a big role in water pollution and over-consumption. Undoubtedly, one of the most important factors is the cultivation of cotton, not only because of water pollution, but also because of extreme consumption. Cotton is a real thirst, because 10,000 liters of water are needed to grow one kilogram of cotton. To give you an idea, to make one piece of ordinary cotton jeans that we have at home, you need about 7,000 liters of water and one T-shirt about 2,500 liters. For an even better explanation, an ordinary person should drink about 1,000 liters of water per year as part of a proper drinking regime. You have one t-shirt for more than two years. Another big disadvantage of cotton is the fact that it manages to grow only in heat and humidity. It must therefore be grown in subtropical zones, so it needs to be watered properly and regularly. In contrast, technical hemp, from which Bohempia makes all its products, is grown in our climatic conditions. This eliminates the need to import material from other continents and does not create a carbon footprint.

So if there’s one thing the Bohempia brand teaches us other than how to wear sustainable fashion, it’s that we can change anything if we want to.
