Samsung presents the budget mobile Galaxy A04s with 90Hz

Samsung has introduced a new budget mobile called the Galaxy A04s. Despite otherwise modest components, the phone in any case offers a 90Hz refresh rate.

The screen is 6.5″ with PLS LCD technology and 720 x 1600 pixels. Samsung does not name the chip on its website other than that the chipset is octa-core and operates at a maximum of 2GHz. It may be the Exynos 850, which is based on 8nm manufacturing technology.

Working memory and storage make us think of 2014 when the phone only has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, of which 19.2GB is available to the user. However, there is support for memory cards up to 1TB. The memory card takes up one of the two SIM slots.

On the back is a 50MP camera with f1.8 aperture. Samsung has also put 2MP sensors there for depth measurement and macro photography. Optical image stabilization is missing. The fourth and last camera is at the front and has 5MP.

Samsung also lists a 5000mAh battery, 3.5mm jack, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C 2.0. The device cannot connect to 5G networks. The Galaxy A04s is on Samsung’s Swedish website, but the manufacturer does not specify a price at the time of writing. Whether or not the phone is worth the price depends, of course, on what it costs – we’ll update the article when we find out the price.
