Samsung has launched 5.8-inch phone in Japan

Japan gets one some exclusive phones that have either been created by Japanese manufacturers and operators, or are only released there. The latest example is a special version of the budget mobile Samsung Galaxy A23 that has a 5.8-inch screen (LCD / HD+) instead of 6.6″.

Anything under 6″ is considered small today, so the Japanese A23 is smaller than most mobiles on the market. Due to the relatively thick frames, however, the phone is larger than it needs to be, with external dimensions of 150 x 71 x 90 millimeters. This means that the A23 is slightly larger than the Galaxy S22 with a 6.1-inch screen.

The device otherwise offers MediaTek Dimensity 700, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, memory card slot, headphone output, NFC, 5G, IP68 rating, a 4000mAh battery (15W), and a 50MP camera. The fingerprint reader is capacitive and sits along the side.

The smaller Galaxy A53 costs the equivalent of SEK 2,475 in Japan.
