Samarate massacre, Alessandro Maja asks his son for forgiveness: I felt neglected

Alessandro Mayaaccused of having killed his wife and daughter in the infamous massacre of Samarate, he apologized in the car to his son Niccolò, the only survivor. “I have committed an unforgivable crime and I ask for forgiveness, I don’t know how to apologize,” the man said during the trial hearing. And then he provided a partial reason for his gesture, admitting that the relationship with his wife had become too difficult.

Arrived at the Court of Busto Arsizio, Alessandro Maja attended the hearing before the Court of Assizes in which he is accused and, in addition to answering questions from the Public Prosecutor, he wanted to make spontaneous statementsin which he addressed his son in particular.

“Nicolò, you knew me as a father and perhaps as a father you liked me. Unfortunately it happened and there is no going back, I don’t think about suicide”, he declared before adding: “I have committed an unforgivable crime and I ask for forgiveness, I don’t know how to apologize”.

About the relationship with the father, the son Niccolò in an interview with Fanpage.it had declared “up until that night he was a good dad”. However, even the boy, who remained in the hospital for many months, is convinced that “life imprisonment would not be unfaireven if I wouldn’t feel freed from that pain”.

The difficult relationship with his wife

In his statements, Alessandro Maja then focused on the difficult relationship with his wife Stefania Pivetta: “He spent too much money and I felt neglectedif I came home after cutting my hair he didn’t even notice”.

A pathological sense of frustration could therefore be the motive for the family massacre that took place on the night between 3 and 4 May 2022 in Samarate and on which the trial is trying to shed light.
