Saint George. Three more earthquakes felt by the population in the last 24 hours

The population of the island of São Jorge, in the Azores, felt three more earthquakes in the last 24 hours, the Azores Seismovolcanic Information and Surveillance Center (CIVISA) reported this Saturday. Since the beginning of the seismovolcanic crisis, a total of 224 tremors have been recorded.

Thus, between 10 am and 10 pm on Friday, two earthquakes of magnitude 2 and 1.9 on the Richter scale were felt in the parish of Velas. Between 10:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am today, another earthquake of magnitude 1.9 was also felt in Ribeira Seca (Calheta).

“So far, around 224 earthquakes felt by the population have been identified”, indicates CIVISA, in the update made at 10 am today.
