11:37 a.m .: In Kharkiv, deliver at the risk of his life
The trunk filled to the brim with food, the techno music blasting: in their red Opel Astra, three young Ukrainians deliver humanitarian aid every day in districts of Kharkiv regularly targeted by Russian rockets.
“We can’t drive without music. If there’s bombing, we just turn up the volume. We are tired of the bombardments. [La musique] helps us to relax, we are not afraid”, assures Alexii, 23 years old.
“Our main objective is to feed children and the elderly, they need it most. Unfortunately, at the moment people don’t have any money or jobs, many of them can’t even get to a supermarket,” says 24-year-old Nazar Tishchenko.
Every day, these volunteers deliver bread, preserves or meat to terrified residents who sometimes cannot leave their homes. Over time, they even learned to differentiate by ear between Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense fire and Russian strikes.
