Russian army chief was present at the fighting front in Donbass
Valery Guerassimov, chief of staff of the Russian army, was last week at the front in the Donbass region.
The information is provided by a senior official of the Department of Defense (Pentagon) of the United States of America (USA), who made the statements anonymously. “What we can confirm is that we know that for several days last week he was in Donbass.”
It should be noted that Anton Guerashchenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, reported on Sunday that several Russian officers were hit by an “explosion” in Izium, in eastern Ukraine, adding that General Valery Guerassimov was at the scene.
Viktor Androussiv, another adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, told Ukrainian television that the general was not injured. “We have confirmation that he was there, in the Izium region (…). We have some confirmation that he was not injured,” he said.
The same Pentagon source, however, only confirms the presence of Guerassimov.
