Russia is working out the terms of the meeting in Brussels on January 12

Earlier it was reported that the secretary general of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg intends to convene a meeting of the Council on January 12. However, a number of issues need to be resolved before the meeting, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko. According to him, the elaboration of the composition of the delegation deserves special attention. The fact is that due to the unfriendly actions of the North Atlantic alliance, there are now no Russian representatives accredited to NATO in Brussels who could take part in the meeting.

Grushko suggested that a delegation from Moscow would go to Brussels. Speaking about the content of the meeting, the Deputy Minister noted that the main topic will be Russian proposals on security guarantees and non-expansion of NATOwrites RIA Novosti.

At the same time, it would be better for Russia to discuss proposals on guarantees directly with Washington, and not with NATO, which includes states unfriendly to Russia. This point of view was expressed by the Russian political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev. For this reason, his expectations from the upcoming Council are negative.
