Rural cities have really pulled up the real estate market

According to MNB data, similarly to the January-March period, house prices in rural cities rose the most in the second quarter of this year, by about 3.5 per cent. The annual price increase was 18.2% in these settlements, which shows a further recovery compared to the first quarter data of 2020 and 2021 (14.1%).

The extent of price changes in Budapest and nationwide lags far behind the countryside. While housing prices in the capital rose by 3.2% quarter-on-quarter and by 9.1% year-on-year, the national average rose by 3.1% quarter-on-quarter, but the annual growth rate was 13.3%. – a decrease of 1 percentage point – shows.
