Rotten privatization, necessary expropriation, we can’t get around us… Will we not miss the Communists?

This was again revealed last week, when the KSČM, despite several big-mouth proclamations, kept Andrej Babiš’s cabinet in power. And why did the Communists actually vote “with their feet”, that is, instead of expressing distrust, they left the state and allowed the government to survive?

“It simply does not exist that political parties – even if they do not agree with each other – do not act together,” explained Vojtěch Filip, the incumbent chairman of the KSČM, in Sunday’s Questions of Václav Moravec. Or, the right-wing opposition did not come to the Communists begging them to fulfill what they publicly shaved.

On the other hand, the attitude of the communists was understandable – they do not want to completely mess with the prime minister and not with the president at all, moreover, they would deny themselves. And Filip’s reasoning is clever, what else should he say…

Podobně and similarly rhetorically-demagogically, he deftly averted allusions in the debate on ČT regarding the strengthening of the government or, on the contrary, the decline of voter support. “The KSČM reversed the trend, the decline stopped, we are gaining new voters,” said the Communist chief.

At the same time, a new poll was published in Sunday’s debate, according to which the party would hardly cross the parliamentary threshold with 5.5 percent of the vote. Which, by the way, would be more than two percentage points worse than the KSČM achieved in its historic slump during the last parliamentary elections in 2017 (it received 7.76 percent).

And the evaluation of the past crisis development of the communists? “We have taken our responsibility for letting the YES minority government and the Social Democrats rule,” Vojtěch Filip explained. And he did not forget to kick the even more decimated CSSD (in the cited survey Kantar CZ received only 3 percent): “Because the Social Democracy is not able to get rid of the Bohumín resolution, but that is its problem.”

By the way, the quoted Bohumín resolution, where the CSSD forbade cooperation with extremists, including communists, is still long gone. Although the Social Democrat leadership tried to claim that it concerned only the level of government, it was general and violated long ago. It’s just on the edge…

Back to the communists. It is not clear whether they will get into the House at all. And if Vojtěch Filip keeps his promise, he will end up leading the party in the autumn. So why not “enjoy” his statement.

Although Pavel Zeman was a poor top public prosecutor (although there were many reasons to criticize his departure in particular): “All privatization cases from 2013 to the present, which could be prosecuted, have become time-barred for his role in this role. “And, of course, grafting into Babiš’s anti-system wave:” The anti-corruption rhetoric, the anti-corruption policy, is important. Because people didn’t explain what had been stolen here. “

But then something very unpleasant happened. That, when Vojtěch Filip declared: “So that people here cannot think that if they stole something from the state, it will not be investigated and it will remain so.” To the moderator’s objection that he could actually talk about suspicions concerning the prime minister, switch…

… Perhaps by recalling that it was the Communists who enforced the resolution on “privatization crimes” in the Chamber.

It could be said that, fortunately, only a resolution, because, for example, nationalization appetite is clearly contained in the genetic code of members of the Red Party. “I do not want us to expropriate property here, unless it is necessary,” the head of the still parliamentary KSČM assured in a debate on ČT on Sunday.

So good so far, you could say. But it is no longer about communists from the KSČM, no matter how much they wish…
