03/12/2021 – The Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility has identified the crossings between the state roads and the roads of Regions, Provinces and Municipalities for which maintenance obligations pass to Anas and to the other motorway concessionaires.

Minister Enrico Giovannini signed the decree that lists the underpasses and overpasses, including the safety barriers in overpasses, specifying their skills in terms of maintenance.

Thus one of the reforms required by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan is implemented (PNRR), that is the one that requires Italy to define the relationships between the owners of the underpasses and overpasses before the European Commission, in order to guarantee a more adequate maintenance system for these infrastructures to improve their safety.

The ministerial decree is provided for by Infrastructure Decree (DL 121/2021) which brings an integration to the Highway Code aimed at greater clarity in the division of responsibilities between road managers.
