On the occasion of the last Parisian auction of RM Sotheby’s, a Lamborghini Miura P 400 SV and a Countach LP 400 “Periscopio” were auctioned at record prices.
Each year the auction organized by RM Sotheby’s in Paris is a moment particularly awaited by collectors and enthusiasts of exceptional cars. Despite the postponement of the Retromobile show to June this year, the auction RM Sotheby’s held up well online a few days ago, and some models have broken records. This is the case with these two very special Lamborghinis, signed Bertone.
RM Sotheby’s auction: 2.4 million euros for this Lamborghini Miura SV
The first is a Miura P 400 SV of 1971, which carries the chassis number 4840 and is one of 150 examples of the Miura SV. With her shiny dress “Racing red” and its blue interior, it was first transformed to resemble the competition-inspired Lamborghini Miura “Jota” before being restored to its original condition and certified by Lamborghini Polo Storico, the department responsible for the preservation and restoration of classic models of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand. Awarded to more than 2.4 million euros, it became in a few moments the second most expensive Miura SV in auction history, the first having been sold for nearly 3.7 million euros, a few months ago by Gooding & Co in London.
The second is a Countach LP 400 “Periscope” of 1977, which bears the chassis number 1120262 and which produced a total of 157 units. This one has the particularity of having belonged to the singer Rod Stewart, and underwent many modifications, including a transformation into a convertible with a Targa roof, before being restored by Carrosserie Lecoq in Paris. She was auctioned at € 775,625, an honorable price for this model rich in history.
Among the other Lamborghinis auctioned by RM Sotheby’sWe also note a superb 400 GT 2 + 2 signed Touring from 1967 and sold for € 477,500, a Espada Series I from 1968 sold for € 173,000, not to mention a more recent Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640-4 Versace from 2008, sold for € 149,500.
