Responding to Workers’ Aspirations, Ministry of Manpower will Intensify Socialization of Wage Structure and Scale


Suara.com – The Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security (PHI and Social Security) Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, said that in the future her party would be more active in disseminating Wage Structure and Scale (SUSU) to companies.

According to Putri, the socialization is carried out so that the company immediately makes and implements the structure of the wage/salary scale in accordance with the performance of the workers/laborers and the company’s capabilities.

“Later on, we will ask companies to immediately adjust, namely by making a structure and scale of wages in each company,” said Putri when receiving an audience from representatives of workers / laborers in the PTSA Room of the Ministry of Manpower, Jakarta, Friday (11/19/2021).

According to Putri, the structure and scale of wages is used for workers/laborers with a working period of more than 1 year. In addition, the application of the structure of the wage scale in the company is a form of protection and appreciation of the company for workers/laborers who have worked for more than 1 year.

“On the other hand, the application of a wage scale structure can also encourage increased productivity and competitiveness of the company which will ultimately benefit all workers in the company,” he said.

He added that if there are companies that provide wages below the minimum wage to workers with a working period of more than 1 year, they can be subject to sanctions.

The sanction imposed on the company is a maximum imprisonment of 4 years. In addition to criminal sanctions, the company is also threatened with a fine of at least Rp. 100 million and a maximum of Rp. 400 million.

“If there are workers who are over 1 year old, it turns out that their wages are below the minimum wage, immediately reported to us, reported to the Ministry of Manpower or to the Manpower Office in the regency/city working area,” he said.

He said that his party intensively coordinated with the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to ensure that workers with a working period of more than 1 year received wages according to the structure and scale of wages.

However, he asked all levels of society to actively report to his party if they found a company paying wages that did not comply with the applicable regulations.
