Prague – Prague representatives will discuss a vaccination strategy against covid-19 today. The aim is to have a sufficient number of vaccination sites and to ensure the fairest possible distribution of vaccines. The agenda includes the repair of the stock exchange in the Holešovice market, the privatization of an apartment building or the transformation of the Drama Club. The promise of the representative will be taken by the new representative Jiří Kubíček (ODS). The negotiations will take place due to a limited coronavirus pandemic.
The city currently registers 28 registered vaccination sites, the government is preparing a large-capacity center in the O2 universum hall, and the municipality is preparing another in the Congress Center. The basic principle is the strategy that vaccination capacities must be sufficient so that there are no vaccines, but no place to apply them. In the metropolis, about half of people over the age of 80 have been vaccinated for the first time.
The listed stock exchange in the Prague Market in Holešovice will be restored. The municipality will announce a public contract for the reconstruction of the building, which is in a very bad condition, in February this year. The estimated value of the contract is a maximum of 185.6 million crowns.
The agenda also includes the transformation of the Drama Club into a registered association, which will allow it to run a business, such as running a café. At the beginning of the meeting, Jiří Kubíček will take the oath of office, who will replace the late deputy Jaroslava Janderová (ODS) in January this year.
The negotiations will take place in a restricted regime due to the covid, as before. “Across all (representative) clubs, we have agreed that the negotiations will not be unnecessarily prolonged by long discussions in order to discuss all points as quickly as possible,” said Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates). The opposition YES even suggested that only the necessary majority of 33 representatives be present.
The presence of the public and journalists is also limited and it is possible to watch the meeting online on the municipality’s website.
