From 18 to 21 June, remodeling work has been carried out on the car park at the RENFE station. The works have consisted of the asphalting and repainting of the firm, as well as the improvement of the landscaping and the perimeter elements.
The car park, with a surface area of 9,300 square meters, has been re-paved in order to eliminate irregularities in the ground. The parking spaces have been repainted and used to widen them and make them more comfortable, increasing their number -470 approximately- by taking advantage of an area that has been disused until now.
The landscaping has also been treated, the curbs have been retouched and the islets have been closed with marble, as in the rest of the village. All the walls and perimeters of the car park have been painted and tidied up, and telephone overhead lines have been buried.
“We reached an agreement with RENFE to pave the Park & Ride area and improve its safety, so that users of the station and residents of the neighborhood can park with dignity. We are very happy with the result, as now the area is much more pleasant “, said the Councilor for Urban Services and Public Roads, Elisabeth Plaza.

The improvement of the RENFE car park adds to the remodeling of the streets in the Can Carreras neighborhood around the station: Sant Joan, Sant Lluís, Comerç and Gomis, which are about to be completed.
