Released beta version of iOS 15.2 with nudity protection

Apple has released its second test updates to iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2, and macOS Monterey 12.1. Updates are available to registered developers, and soon they can be installed by regular users who signed up for beta testing of Apple software.

Beta versions of iOS and iPadOS can be downloaded over Wi-Fi and installed with all user data saved. macOS can be updated via Apple menu → System Preferences → Software Update.

The iOS 15.2 beta introduces a new parental control feature called Communication Safety. It protects your child from receiving sexually explicit pictures in Messages. By default, this feature is disabled, the parent can enable it on their own. If a child 13 years and older receives a nude photo, the photo will be blurred, and if he chooses to see the censored version, the parent will be notified about it. Children under 13 are not shown such photos at all; instead, instructions will appear on what to do in such cases. Photos are checked for obscene body parts directly on the smartphone, the images are not sent anywhere.

These are minor updates and no longer contain any notable innovations. It is possible that the developers will dig into the code of these updates and, by tradition, will find something interesting, as is usually the case (for example, hints about the release of upcoming products or the appearance of any new functions).
