The Martorell Municipal Board of Care for People (PMSAPM) is open until Friday 2 June for registrations for summer activities for children, which will take place from 26 June to 28 July. This year, ‘L’Estiu a l’Escola’ has been programmed, a fun and sports activity in educational centers for children from 3 to 12 years old.
As part of the ‘Connect with the environment’ project, these summer activities aim to contribute to generating a positive bond between children and their immediate environment, such as peers, family, school, neighborhood and the municipality. At the same time, the program provides continuity during the summer months to the Martorell Educa 360 strategy that is carried out throughout the school year.
The activities will take place from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., and will take place in the Juan Ramon Jiménez, Vicente Aleixandre, José Echegaray, Els Convents, Mercè Rodoreda and Lola Anglada schools in the municipality. At the time of registration, families must indicate which center they want the child to attend and confirm whether or not they will participate in the afternoon.
Connected with the environment
This year’s main innovation is aimed at students who have completed 5th and 6th primary this year (born in 2011 and 2012); a differentiated and specifically created program has been designed for these children with content aimed at their age, and favoring greater involvement and cooperation between them. In order to facilitate the development of these personalized itineraries, therefore, all participants in this age group will carry out the activity in a single educational center, which will be the José Echegaray School.
The contents of this new edition of summer at school have been generated from four blocks: play as a tool for cohesion, active life and healthy habits, the environment as an opportunity to connect us, and coexistence to generate a shared space. Based on these pillars, the content of interest will be adapted to the needs and abilities of each of the age groups of each group.
Optional services
Reception service in the morning, from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m., and dining service from 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. with the possibility of monthly or weekly contracts. Intensive swimming courses
This summer, swimming courses are also returning to the PMSAPM, with the aim of the participants acquiring the minimum mastery in the aquatic environment, so that they can float and move without difficulty and without harm to their health. This activity can be practiced in the Sports Department of the Municipal Board of People’s Services from the age of 3 and is aimed at children who do not know how to swim or with an initial swimming level.
In order to guarantee the best development of the sessions, all groups have limited places. The intensive introductory swimming courses last five weeks, from June 26 to July 28, although 4-week periods can optionally be contracted (from June 26 to July 28 or from July 3 to 28 of July). Activities for young people and teenagers
