jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Regent of Landak Karolin Margret Natasa received the award from the Indonesian Women’s Award (API) VIII Year 2022 in the category of government leader.

The award was given by the Indonesian Women’s Award Recipient Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (P3A) of the Republic of Indonesia which took place in Yogjakarta, Saturday (22/1/2022).

The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (P3A) I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati in her speech and briefing virtually said the number of female leaders in Indonesia compared to men was not equal. This is because women are not considered to have the potential to lead in a certain place or field.

“In the world of work, the participation rate of the female workforce is still low,” said Bintang.

Bintang explained that the data for 2021 showed that the female workforce had only reached 54.03 percent, so it was very unequal with the male workforce of 82.14 percent.

Furthermore, said Bintang, the current gender empowerment index still reflects the lack of women’s leadership in various development fields at various levels, both locally and nationally.

In addition, Bintang also congratulated the recipients of the 2022 Indonesian Women’s Award (API) who had been strictly selected by the committee.

He hopes the award can be a source of inspiration for many.
