Red Bull Racing Honda Team F1 Racing Car Shows Off at GIIAS 2022

DAPURPACU – Honda not only displayed a range of superior models at their booth throughout the GIIAS 2022 exhibition. A series of models that took part in various racing events were also presented at ICE BSD-City, Tangerang.

In one corner of the booth was displayed a Formula 1 racing car belonging to the Red Bull Racing team, as well as a replica of the Honda RC213V, the mounts of the HRC Repsol Honda Team, namely Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro.

The special display of the Honda RB16B racing car in the 2021 F1 racing season is displayed in a 1:1 scale. By relying on Honda’s turbo hybrid engine coded RA621H, they currently lead the 2022 season standings for the driver, namely Max Verstappen.

Carrying a turbocharged engine with a capacity of 1,600 cc inline six cylinder, equipped with Honda kinetic and thermal energy recovery system (electric motor).

The collaboration produces 900 hp with a maximum engine speed of up to 15,000 rpm. For information, Honda began developing this engine for F1 racing since 2014.

This development is in line with the technical regulations in the ‘land jet’ racing event. Honda’s first achievement in developing this engine technology was produced by Max in the 2021 racing season.

This world title is the first for Honda in the modern F1 racing era or the F1 turbo hybrid era, as well as the first since it was last won in 1991.

HPM’s Business Innovation and Sales & Marketing Director, Yusak Billy said, this special display unit is a combination of Honda’s love for the world of racing and Honda’s vision of developing machines that are more environmentally friendly.

“The success of the Red Bull Racing Honda team by using this car is proof that a turbo hybrid engine can also produce extraordinary performance,” he added.

This special display uses a special livery with Honda’s corporate colors, namely white and red, bearing the words “ありがとう/Arigatou” in Japanese, or Thank you in Indonesian.

This special livery was prepared by Honda as an expression of gratitude, as well as farewell to racing fans, especially the F1 racing event.

After resigning at the end of 2021, Honda then appointed Honda Racing (HRC) to continue Honda’s role in the racing event to develop and supply engines to the Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri teams starting this year.

Earlier this August, Honda and Red Bull announced that they would continue their technical cooperation, with HRC deciding to supply racing engines (power units) to both teams until the end of 2025.

Honda also displayed the RC213V-S which is a mass production model developed from the racing specs used in MotoGP. [dp/IS]
