Razer presents its protective mask of the near future

For CES 2021, the Razer brand – known for its gaming products and peripherals – has reserved a surprise by unveiling the Hazel project. In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, this concept of protective mask is presented as the smartest and most user-friendly in the world.

This Smart Mask is essentially a concentrate of several ideas, but it is indeed for the moment a concept which is likely to evolve, even if a prototype exists.

Project Hazel is designed as a mask with N95 medical grade respiratory protection. The equivalent of the famous FFP2 respiratory protection mask in Europe for the filtration of at least 94% of aerosols and droplets.

The active and removable ventilation system – with circular Smart Pods – must make it possible to regulate the air flow to facilitate breathing, while effectively filtering at least 95% of airborne particles.

Water and scratch resistant, the mask made of recyclable plastic adopts transparent design so as not to obstruct social interaction with facial expressions. It integrates a microphone and an amplifier to exploit Razer VoiceAmp technology and improve the range of the voice.

With effective and adjustable support, while being comfortable according to Razer, Project Hazel naturally benefits … from customizable Razer Chroma RGB lighting for up to 16.8 million colors. For style, in addition to lighting for the face and acting as an indicator light.

Razer has planned interactions with a mobile app and a wireless charging box with a UV light disinfection system. A protective mask concept without indication for its future price.
