Razer Cynosa V2 – ITNetwork

The Razer Cynosa quickly became the best-selling keyboard in the Razer range. No, it’s not necessarily because of response time, build quality or features. Instead, look at the price and you will get the answer to your questions. This fully customizable RGB keyboard retails for $60, which is great for what you get, but don’t expect a premium product. Still, the Razer Cynosa V2 has style, affordability, comfort, and RGB features that will put a smile on your face without burning a big hole in your wallet.

The Razer Cynosa V2 is powered only via a USB 2.0 port and is equipped with a long cable for this purpose. The keyboard itself has no additional functionality beyond what keyboards are supposed to do; there are no additional macro keys other than the basic function keys. However, it does have a multimedia control key, which is nice to see on a keyboard.

The holder at the bottom provides stable and firm support. After using it, I really wished there was a forearm pad, which has become something I specifically look for when buying a keyboard. Since the pad isn’t there, I’d like the bottom of the keyboard to be extended so I could lean on it. However, for what is here, I have some issues with the size of this keyboard. I wish it was a little bigger, but regardless, this keyboard serves its purpose when it comes to typing words and letters.

The keys on the Cynosa V2 are pretty quiet when pressed, which makes me wish for an even quieter keyboard, especially when I’m recording podcasts and other video content where I might need to type out of frame. However, they have a nice soft touch that I like a lot. However, the feedback when pressing the keys is a little limited, which can slow down fast typing and cause jitters for users who want maximum performance. The keys feel more plasticized, but for the price you pay, that’s not a big problem.

I played a few games of League of Legends to get a better feel for what the keyboard can provide. The size of the keys was difficult to get used to, but they are really comfortable on the fingers. As any gamer knows, muscle memory and key spacing are important to avoid accidental presses. My opinion of the product didn’t seem to change after playing with it, so I felt like I could play a few more rounds.

The problems with this keyboard are those that experienced gamers quickly notice after a few hours of use, which is why I would recommend hardcore gamers to invest their money in something of higher quality. On the other hand, if you are new to the world of PC gaming and are looking for an entry-level product that provides a high level of comfort, Cynosa V2 is a good choice. One thing I would like to add is that it didn’t take me too long to adjust to the keys. In a very short period of time I was able to type entire sentences without a mistake, and that’s an achievement, don’t judge gamers.

The software itself seems a bit overcomplicated. I like the functionality, but it feels like it’s trying to be After-Effects RGB lighting with layers and multiple effects. It seems that only ten people out of a thousand will ever take the time to adjust the lighting to that extent. I prefer to stick with static colors that match my desk. Other than that, I had no problems with the speed or navigation of the software.

Since there are no macro keys, I didn’t have to deal with that for this keyboard. However, I discovered the unique possibility of audio visualization of RGB simulation. It allows the keyboard lighting to become an audio meter that responds to sounds and music with selectable RGB lighting. A very fun feature that contributes to a more intense experience.

The Razer Cynosa V2 provides a decent keyboard with some fun RGB features and the added benefit of extremely comfortable keys. In my opinion, it doesn’t reach premium or high-performance levels, but I don’t think this keyboard is even intended for such needs, which makes it a worthy choice for gamers on a tighter budget.
