They clean flue gases from heat production, in particular from particulate matter, which is on average 5 to 10 times higher than the limit values ​​required by the Medium Combustion Plants Directive in old combustion plants.

“The installation of cleaning devices, such as electrostatic precipitators and bag filters, meets the necessary requirements without any problems,” confirms Leesment.

According to Leesment, the task of another important component of modern heating systems – heat recovery technology – is to obtain the last energy from flue gases. This reduces energy loss with exhaust gases and increases the efficiency of heat production. “Depending on the operating mode of the heating equipment and the needs of the heat consumers, it is possible to increase the efficiency by an average of 15-25%, up to 30% under favorable conditions,” says Leesment. “As a result, flue gas condensers are well suited for district heating boiler houses running on moist biofuels, where the heat carrier temperatures are low and the amount of energy contained in the flue gas is high.”
