Rally sport in Hungary – Report by Nenad Pozder

Especially for the site “My World of Speed”, our correspondent from Sombor, Nenad Pozder, a former football player in Serbia, and now a coach in Hungary, appeared from Budapest…

“DVTK is a club from Miskolc, which this year marks 110 years of existence and is the first multisport club in Hungary that will include technical sports in its rich tradition. The red and white colors of the club will defend well-known greats of motorsport – Hungarian rally champion for 2018 Andras Hadik (Hadik András), Zholt Friedmann (Friedmann Zsolt) and absolute rally cross champion Chaba Spitzmüller Csaba. “

At the solemn press conference held at the DVTK stadium, the gathered guests and representatives of the seventh force were addressed by Dr. Peter Vilagi, communication and marketing director, who, among other things, proudly stated that the auto-moto club is the 20th club section.

The process of founding the club took a full year. Since motor sports are very popular in Miskolc and its part of the city, Diosdjer, the main one the organizer of the rally race in Hungary, Mr. Mark Adamovic gave the green light for the establishment of the club. Both sides hope for a long and successful cooperation.

Andras Hadik, the two-time absolute champion of Hungary from 2018, received the first driver’s license in the red-and-white club. In his address, he cited details from his rich driving career and highlighted the great excitement and challenge of defending the colors of his new club and his city.

The colors of the club in the east of Hungary will be defended by another great rally sport, Čaba Spitzmiler. Lately, he has been using his knowledge in the Relicross Championship. During his address, he stated that as a young athlete he was a member of the kayak club MVSC from the same city and that the rivalry with other athletes from DVTK was always at a high level. He also stated that apart from football, motorsport is very popular in this part of the country.

Unlike its predecessor, Zsolt Friedman’s car has already received its new red and white colors from the DVTK club. The rising star accepted the new challenge with great pleasure and excitement, which also represents a new division in his career. He said it was
extremely proud and that it is a great honor for him to defend the colors of his hometown. He pointed out that Miskolc and the surrounding mountainous region of Bukk gave an opportunity for the progress of local auto-moto competitors and that he hoped that it would be the same in the future.

Andras Hadik and Kristijan Kertes will be on the starting line of the Velenje Rally in Slovenia next week, which will also be the main rehearsal before the start of the Hungarian championship. In mid-July 2020, Zsolt Friedman opens the season at the Stilvent Shalgo Rally, while you can see Chab Spitzmiller in the relics Supercars category this year.
