Raid at the DFB: suspected serious tax evasion

The Frankfurt / Main public prosecutor’s office searched the offices of the German Football Association (DFB) and the private apartments of current and former association officials on Wednesday. There is suspicion of fraudulent corporate and trade tax evasion in particularly serious cases, according to a press release from the Frankfurt / Main public prosecutor’s office.

A total of around 200 officials were involved in the search measures in Hesse, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the public prosecutor’s office, this involves income from perimeter advertising at international matches of the national team in 2014 and 2015. (sid)
