Radeon RX 6600 XT turned out, we have the first tests, but what about the RX 6600?

The Radeon RX 6600 XT was spotted in the form of an engineering sample produced by PC Partner. At the same time, AMD does not prepare its reference versions for the market, so we can only expect models from the AIB manufacturers themselves.

This is not a single-fan card, but a model with two fans, although with only a simple aluminum heatsink with probably two heatpipes for better heat distribution, which shows that TBP cards will stay within acceptable limits. We could consider a maximum of 180 W.

The card will offer 2048 Stream processors in a Navi 23 chip and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit interface. It turns out that in the current generation, AMD has solved the issue of memory capacity much better than NVIDIA, which has a decent mess in this, which was partly offset by the fact that last year there were no non-1GB GDDR6X memory chips available, which greatly narrowed room for maneuver.

We also learn that the RX 6600 XT graphics card should enter the market specifically on August 11, so we can expect an official presentation at any moment, although it may eventually come just before the start of sales. There are also rumors that AMD should have decent introductory supplies ready, but perhaps no one is sane of such promises, so let’s wait.

So far, the card’s performance has only been measured in the Ludashi benchmark, which is popular in China, and according to it, perhaps the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti card’s performance could be expected. Although who knows, the list also includes the RTX 3070 Ti with worse performance than the 6600 XT and 3060 Ti. Are they overclocked cards? That would be even better for the new Radeon.

Finally here we have informationthat we will wait for the RX 6600, or non-XT version, at least until September and maybe until October. This should be followed by cards or a card with Navi 24 introduced before the end of the year and it will be the successor to the RX 5500 models.
