RAB member injured in attack by drug dealers in Meherpur

According to local sources, in the afternoon, a civil team of RAB-12’s Gangni camp in Meherpur went on an anti-narcotics operation in Harabhanga village on the border. At that time, the drug dealers attacked the RAB members with sharp weapons. A RAB member named Uttam Kumar was injured. At this time RAB members fired in self defense. Drug dealer Saeed alias Sweet was arrested by RAB. RAB recovered Phencidil from the scene.

Meanwhile, RAB member Uttam Kumar was sent to Kushtia Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. At the same time, RAB members took drug dealer Said to Gangni Upazila Health Complex. Abir Hossain, the medical officer of emergency department of Gangni Upazila Health Complex referred him to Kushtia Medical after giving first aid.

Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Tapas Kumar Sarkar said that one RAB member was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. He has been beaten wildly. After treatment, he is free of danger.
