The online events recorded over 670,000 views
Qreator by IQOS is one of the most active promoters and supporters of creativity in the cultural area of Bucharest. In 2020, a year that dramatically changed the cultural and creative scene, but also society in general, Qreator by IQOS continued to be with the artistic and public communities through organized events.
The 25 events organized online or offline, in compliance with the regulations in force in the space from Bd. Aviatorilor no. 8A, confirmed that Qreator by IQOS continued its atypical mission to support creative communities this year as well. Over 670,000 Romanians watched online the events organized by Qreator by IQOS and were with their favorite artists. In total, Philip Morris Romania has invested over $ 500,000 in supporting these cultural projects.
Qreator by IQOS, online alternative for the auditorium
At the end of March, the series of online events organized under the Qreator umbrella – Home Together Edition started. Every Thursday night, for three months, the public could take part in concerts, theater performances and live conferences on Facebook. They made up for the need for cultural events in a difficult time, and Qreator by IQOS became one of the few spaces where the connection between the public and the artists was maintained, uninterrupted, despite the changing reality.
Maia Morgenstern, Alexandru Tomescu, Marius Manole, Lia Bugnar, Florin Piersic Jr., Răzvan Exarhu, Vita de Vie, The Mono Jacks, Byron, The Man with the Rats, The Kryptonite Sparks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Mr. Jurjak and The Moonlight Breakfast are only a few of those who changed the real scene to the virtual one and tried to create an oasis of normalcy in the “new normal”.
“Qreator by IQOS is that beautiful place in Victoriei Square, where something” different “always happens and where art, in all its forms, always seems to find its place.”
Doru Trăscău (The Mono Jacks)
The Home Together Edition series of events had a memorable ending, a live recital given by Angela Gheorghiu. This was the first recital given by the opera music superstar since the beginning of the pandemic, which surprised her in Romania, and gathered over 500,000 views on the Facebook page of Qreator by IQOS.
The results of the Qreator – Home Together Edition project were rewarded at the Webstock Awards Gala with second place in the Best Use of LIVE video section.
In autumn, after undergoing a process of interior transformation under the signature of architects Dorin Ștefan, Anda Ștefan and Andreea Ionescu, the Qreator by IQOS building hosted a second series of events. There were outdoor theater performances, discussions with emerging artists or stand-up comedy artists and literary evenings, events curated by Adrian Despot, Răzvan Exarhu, Marius Manole, Lia Bugnar, Marius Chivu.
The year 2020 ended in the chords of Alexandru Tomescu’s violin, who performed “Ode to Joy” in a duet with pianist Sînziana Mircea. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony was perhaps the most appropriate piece of music for the end of a year that taught us about the joy of staying close to each other.
Qreator by IQOS, active supporter of the creative industry
In February 2020, the exhibition “Endless Brâncuși” was an opportunity to celebrate 144 years since the birth of Constantin Brâncuși. The project initiated by Irina Calota brought together 19 works of art by young artists from Bucharest, Iasi, Chisinau and Tirana (Albania), to pay tribute to the genius artist of the twentieth century.
In September, the public exhibitions were resumed in Qreator by IQOS, in compliance with the protection and distance measures in force. The strategic partnership concluded with Romanian Design Week and the Diploma reconfirmed the status of link between the public and the creative industry of the space in Victoriei Square. The Design Flags exhibition, organized during Romanian Design Week, brought together seven international design capsule exhibitions presented for the first time in Romania.
They documented the evolution of design from international cultural perspectives and investigated new approaches and concerns in the field. More than 800 lovers of contemporary design have crossed the threshold of Qreator by IQOS, eager to see the street posters in Madrid, the posters of the Association of Hungarian Graphic Designers and to interact with the Future Food Formula installation. In October, The Future of Fashion brought to the public the most promising fashion designers of the new wave, which reflects the diversity of a new generation of graduates. The best creations of the 2019 generation, but also a series of personal exhibitions of the most prolific students of DIPLOMA could be seen at Qreator by IQOS in October.
In November, the Night of Museums was marked by “Art in Motion”, a collaboration with Mobius Gallery, through which a selection of works by artists Roman Tolici and Andrei Gamarț was presented in two variants: an original one, as designed by o the artist, and the other, in the mirror, in a digitally animated version that offered the viewer new perspectives on the original work.
Qreator by IQOS, “Embassy of Change” in the IQOS Universe
In addition to its role as a hub for artistic events, Qreator by IQOS was also a place where IQOS users could have a new shopping experience through the support center and the IQOS store on the ground floor of the building. Here they can benefit from exclusive services and personalized assistance for their device. In the store, adult smokers can learn more about heated tobacco and what makes IQOS a better alternative than continuing smoking.
“It was a privilege to be with the artists and their audience in a year that put us all to the test. Qreator by IQOS was both a refuge and a bridge. It was a real and virtual space where creativity could be expressed against the backdrop of a deafening general silence. We hope that artists will regain their lights and the place they deserve in the city in 2021. We will continue to bring together those who love creativity and those who do to happen.”
Dragoș Bucurenci (Director Communications, Philip Morris România)
The year 2021 – the ongoing challenge for Qreator by IQOS
And in 2021, Qreator by IQOS aims to stay with the creative community and strengthen its status as a supporter of the arts and creativity. The mix of online and offline events is meant to help artists and creative communities overcome the difficult period created by the prolongation of the medical crisis. 2021 comes to Qreator by IQOS with both new projects and some already known, reference ones, which will surely delight the public.
The year 2021 comes with the hope that visitors will be able to cross the threshold of Qreator by IQOS much more often, in order to enjoy the building in Bd. Aviatorilor no. 8A, a constant source of beauty and inspiration that enhances their creative vision.
