PSIS Ready to Change Coaching Staff Ahead of Next Season


Suara.com – PSIS Semarang plans to overhaul the coaching staff for the team that is the pride of the Capital City of Central Java to face the Indonesian League competition next season.

“There have been several changes to the coaching and medical staff, which will be released after a thorough evaluation by management and head coach Gilbert Agius,” said PSIS CEO Yoyok Sukawi as published by Antara, Thursday (12/5/2023).

However, Yoyok did not explain in detail the reshuffle that would be carried out. According to him, PSIS’s first training for the new season will be held on May 22, 2023

He said local players, both those who were still under contract and those who were new, would be gathered to start a physical training program.

Meanwhile, foreign players, he said, will be given the opportunity to join on June 5, 2023.

As for coach Gilbert Agius, said Yoyok, he would arrive early in mid-May to immediately coordinate with local coaches to prepare the team.

Yoyok added that PSIS’s plan to hold trials or pre-season competitions would be decided after a meeting of the coaching and management teams.

Ahead of next season, PSIS has released nine players and six young players who will be loaned out to other teams to gain experience playing.

In addition, there are three players who were not registered in the first round of League 1 2023/2024 due to injuries.
