Production Recovers, Honda Targets Accelerating Unit Distribution

DAPURPACU – The disruption in the supply of components that occurred globally indirectly also had an impact on the production process of Honda’s model line in Indonesia.

Mentioned, the scarcity occurred in the period last August and September. This condition in the end led to the disruption of the supply of cars for consumers.

PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) claims that this condition has an impact on production volume and high demand from consumers such as the Honda Brio, HR-V, and CR-V.

On the other hand, the disruption to the supply of these models also affected Honda’s retail sales last September.

However, currently Honda has been able to gradually increase its production volume and continues to strive to accelerate the fulfillment of consumer demand.

Yusak Billy, HPM’s Business Innovation and Marketing & Sales Director, appreciated consumers for the still high demand in the midst of disruptions in car shipments due to the scarcity of components for production.

“We also apologize to consumers who had to wait longer to get their cars, and now we have started to increase production and accelerate car deliveries to our dealers throughout Indonesia,” he added.

“We will try to meet the demands of consumers who have ordered Honda units as soon as possible in the next 1 to 2 months,” added Billy.

In total, Honda recorded retail sales of 3,362 units throughout last September. Of that amount, the largest contribution came from the City Hatchback RS, which sold 1,053 units.

Meanwhile, Honda Brio sold 1,027 units, with details of 811 units of Brio Satya and 216 units of Brio RS. Followed by HR-V 1.5 L sold 690 units, New CR-V as many as 175 units.

The Mobilio sold 127 units, the BR-V 125 units, the HR-V 1.8 L 63 units, the New Civic Hatchback RS with 60 units and the New Odyssey which recorded 22 units.

While in the sedan segment, the All New Accord sold 12 units and the Civic 6 units. Followed by City and Civic Type R each sold 1 unit.

In total, Honda has posted sales of 68,376 units from January to September 2021, an increase of 23% compared to the same period last year.

This month, Honda again offers a sales program titled ‘Yuk, Buy Honda Aja!’, with various benefits that will be obtained by potential customers, ranging from additional value to free maintenance fees.

Consumers will get a bonus in the form of free periodic maintenance fees (Services + parts up to 50,000 km or 4 years) specifically for the purchase of Mobilio, BR-V, New CR-V and City Hatchback RS.

Especially for Loyalist/Education/Medical Worker consumers who purchase New Brio and HR-V, will get a free bonus of periodic maintenance fees (Services + parts up to 50,000 km or 4 years). [dp/MTH]
