Problems with tartar? Its popular tartar, the “stone” on the teeth is a deposit organo-mineral yellow-brown color found in both permanent and temporary “milk” teeth.
Tartar is formed especially on the inner surface of the lower teeth, on the outer surface of the upper molars, as well as on the surfaces of bridges and dentures, orthodontic appliances, as well as in areas where the teeth cannot be easily cleaned, as in the case of clenched teeth, crowded.
That is why descaling is recommended twice a year, or even more often if you notice that a lot of tartar has accumulated.
The deposition of tartar favors periodontal diseases (disorders of the tissue that keeps the tooth in the bone), the appearance of caries, bad breath (bad breath), tooth mobility, eventually leading to tooth loss.
Tartar is not only a threat to the health of teeth and gums, but also an aesthetic issue. Being porous, it absorbs and stains easily. If you are a smoker or coffee / tea drinker, it is very important to prevent tartar formation.
In the case of patients who do not devote time to descaling, we have three distinct subcategories:
- patients who brush their teeth regularly and correctly (two to three times a day, two to three minutes each),
- patients who wash too insistently and
- patients who do not wash regularly for various reasons.
Of all, the first category is obviously preferable, as the level of tartar is the lowest in this case; the third category of patients develops brown tartar; while the second category will develop whiter or whiter tartar.
Normally, tartar is recommended to be removed with the help of a scaling at the dentist, but we can also apply a simple solution at home.
The ingredients we need:
- Sodium bicarbonate
- Hydrogen peroxide
Baking soda is the most popular and most effective substance for removing dental plaque at home.
First, mix a tablespoon of baking soda in a glass with a teaspoon of salt. Soak the toothbrush in warm water, then soak it in the mixture. Brush your teeth well with it, then spit. Repeat the procedure for five minutes.
Combine a full glass of hydrogen peroxide with a cup of warm water and rinse your mouth with this solution for one minute, then spit and rinse your mouth again with a cup of cold water.
Follow these steps once a week for 1 month!
