Prague – Today, President Miloš Zeman signed an increase in this year’s state budget deficit from the originally approved 320 billion to 500 billion crowns. In a press release, ČTK was informed by Hrad. The reason for this change is mainly the reflection of the effects of the tax package, such as the abolition of the super-gross wage. The government has also prepared a proposal for a new compensatory bonus for entrepreneurs and needs additional spending to combat the covidu-19 pandemic.

According to the proposal, the total budget revenues this year should be 1.39 trillion crowns and expenditures 1.89 trillion crowns. Revenues should thus be lower by 102.7 billion crowns compared to the approved budget and expenditures higher by 77.3 billion crowns.
