Preparing for Our AMD EPYC 7713 Server

One of the biggest changes we will make as Technopat in 2022 will be the server and the other will be the office. The EPYC 7713 powered by AMD will be at the heart of our new server. This processor, which we will attach to ASUS’ RS500A-E10-PS4 server, will be accompanied by Micron’s 128 GB ECC memory.

We are currently using CentOS operating system on our server, but as you know, CentOS was one of the operating systems that died this year. Although Alma Linux is the best alternative, the control panel software we use, cPanel, is no longer available as of version 98. Ubuntu also supports. In this context, we can use Ubuntu on our new server. This is actually a bit of a personal obsession. The 8.5 version of Alma Linux uses the Linux 4.18.0-348 kernel, while the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS version comes with the 5.4 version Linux kernel. Although the processor support is brought to previous kernel versions, as Technopat, we prefer to use the latest version.

After installing our server and software, we also plan to open the long-awaited GIF support on Technopat Social. In addition, it is among our plans to add new features to Social. Of course, some of these will come with XenForo 2.3, but we can also make special additions ourselves, which we have supported development before, which brings AMP support to XenForo 2 AMPXF plugin as.

And of course, there is a new office, but we can’t share more details on this subject for now, stay tuned, stay informed about the developments!

His acquaintance with computers dates back to the 2000s. In 2007, he wrote articles for CHIP and LEVEL magazines as well as for CHIP Online, and in 2010 he became the Hardware Editor of CHIP, Turkey’s best selling technology magazine. During this time, Recep Baltaş, who made more than 1000 product reviews, left this position at the end of 2011 and started to work as a Marketing Specialist in ASUS Turkey. The last stop of Baltaş, a true Technopat, is Technopat.net.
