Suara.com – The tahajjud prayer in the third of the night is the most important and efficacious time to pray. Muslims can perform the sunnah tahajjud prayer at least two rak’ahs and then pray. One of the most recommended prayers is the prayer for sustenance after the Latin tahajjud prayer.

Related to the virtue of reciting a prayer after the tahajud prayer, it is mentioned in a hadith that has been narrated by Abu Umamah that the Prophet SAW said:

From Abu Umamah he said; Rasulullah sallallaahu wa`alaihi wa sallam was asked; O Messenger of Allah, what prayer is heard the most? He said: “The last midnight prayer, as well as after the obligatory prayers.” (HR. Tirmidhi) [No. 3499 Maktabatu Al Ma`arif Riyadh] Hasan.

In another hadith, it is mentioned that it is important for a Muslim to perform tahajud prayer every night. One of them is found in the hadith of the Narration of Abu Ya’la which reads:

Three people who are pleased with Allah SWT., namely a person who wakes up in the middle of the night and prays, a people (congregation) who line up for prayer, and a people who line up for war in the way of God.(H.R. Abu Ya’la).

After completing the tahajjud prayer, Muslims are allowed to pray. One prayer that is considered important is prayer asking for sustenance. So how do you read the prayer asking for sustenance after the tahajjud prayer? Check out the following reading.

Prayer for Sustenance After the Latin Tahajud Prayer

After the tahajjud prayer you can read the prayer below:

Allahummaghfir, warham, wahdini, wa ‘afini, warzuqni.

Meaning: “O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, save me (from various diseases), and provide me with sustenance.”

As for the prayer found in the explanation of the hadith of Thoriq bin Asy-yam -radhiyallahu ‘anhu-, the Prophet SAW once said:

If someone is new to Islam, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, teaches him to pray, then he orders him to recite the following prayer: “Allahummaghfirlii, warhamnii, wahdinii, wa ‘aafinii, warzuqnii.” (HR. Muslim number 35, 2697).

In addition, you can also read other prayers recommended by the Prophet SAW to ask for abundant sustenance. Here is the Latin reading of the prayer for sustenance after the tahajud prayer:

Allahumma is as-aluka ‘the children of the weak, the provision of the righteous, and the character of the mutaqobbala.

Meaning: “O Allah, I really ask You for useful knowledge (for myself and others), lawful sustenance and accepted deeds (with You and get a good reward).” (Narrated by Ibn Majah, number 925 and Ahmad 6:305, 322).

Dhikr After Tahajud Prayer

In addition to praying for sustenance after tahajud prayer, it is also recommended to read dhikr. The terrible dhikr recited after the tahajud prayer is mentioned in a hadith. The Prophet SAW said:

Al-Walid ibn Muslim told us, Al-Auzai told us, Umair ibn Hani told me, Junadah ibn Abu Umayyah told me, Ubadah ibn Samit told us, from the Messenger of God, who said: Whoever wakes up in the middle of the night and says, “There is no god worthy of worship but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the kingdom and His is all praise, and He is Almighty over all things.

Glory be to God and all praise be to God. And there is no God worthy of worship but God, God is Great, and there is no power and no strength except with God’s help,” then he said, “O my God, grant me forgiveness” – or then he prayed – it will surely be granted to him. And if he get up and fix yourself, then perform ablution, then pray, then the prayer is accepted.

Here is the dhikr reading that is recommended to be read after the tahajud prayer:

1. The first dhikr read Istighfar 3 times and continue reading:

Allahumma antas salaam wa minkas salaam tabaarokta yaa dzal jalaali wal ikrom.

Meaning: “I ask God for forgiveness,” (3x). Then read: “O Allah, You are the giver of salvation, and salvation is from You, Glory be to You, O God Who is the Owner of Majesty and Glory” (HR. Muslim no. 591).

2. Second remembrance

Laa ilaha illallah wahdahu laa syarika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli syai-in qodiir. Allahumma laa maani’a lima a’thoita wa laa mu’thiya limaa mana’ta wa laa yanfau dzal jaddi minkal jaddu.

“There is no Rabb who has the right to be worshiped other than Allah Almighty, there is no partner for Him. To Him be praise and to Him is the kingdom. He is Almighty over all things. Oh God, no one prevents what You give and no one gives what You prevent. The wealth and glory are of no use to the owner (apart from his faith and righteous deeds that save him from torment). Wealth and honor are only from You” (HR. Bukhari no.6615, Muslim no.593).

3. Third dhikr

Laa ilaha illallah wahdahu laa syarika lah.

“There is no Rabb (who has the right to be worshipped) except Allah, the One and Only, He has no partners. To Him is the kingdom and worship. He is Almighty over all things. There is no power and strength except (with the help of) Allah. There is no Rabb (the right to be worshiped) except Allah. We do not worship except Him. For Him are blessings, graces and good worship. There is no Rabb (who has the right to be worshiped) except Allah, by purifying worship to Him, even if the disbelievers hate each other.” (HR. Muslim, no. 594).

4. Then closed with reciting tasbih (subhanallah), tahmid (alhamdulillah), and takbir (Allahu Akbar), each 33 times. Then sholawat Nabi as many as 40 times.

The priority of Tahajud Prayer

According to the book of Sahih Muslim, there is a hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah ra that the Prophet SAW was once asked about the most important sunnah prayer after the obligatory prayer. So the Prophet SAW answered through his words:

That is why Allah SWT ordered His Messenger to liven up the night with tahajud circumcision prayer. The meaning of tahajud is the prayer done after sleeping”.

That was the recitation of the prayer for sustenance after the Latin tahajud prayer, complete with dhikr that is recommended to be practiced. The tahajud prayer is not heavy if we do it with a sincere intention only for the sake of Allah SWT.
