How can I keep call history on Android?

Good afternoon,

I have been annoyed for some time for not being able to see the call history on my phone (UMIDIGI F1 – Android 9), for more than 2 months. I often need to check older calls I made or received, but I can’t… Is there any way to access older records?

My SMS history, for example, is 10 years old!!!!!

Thank you in advance for your attention

Ricardo Santos

Ricardo,

I answer “in solidarity”, because I am also one of those who likes to keep the history of everything.

The reason for not being able to see the history may be due to that, it is too long and the Phone app on this smartphone can’t handle all this content. Note that, with regard to the log of calls and SMS, it is not something that depends directly on an application, as it is information managed by the system and which is controlledly made available to applications.

In your case, I would start by ensuring that everything you have is backed up. I don’t know if you already know the SMS Backup & Restore app:

This app allows you to make a backup of these two types of content, and even synchronize them to your Google account if you wish. Do this to prevent any major problems arising with the records you have.

After that, what I recommend is that you delete the data and cache of this Phone app. You should go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Phone > Clear data and cache (the path may be slightly different). Then open the app and check if the problem persists.

If it doesn’t, try installing a new Phone app. There are many, but I highlight the one from Google, which is even included in some smartphones:

You can try others that you find on the Play Store. If the problem persists, the next step would be to do a factory reset of the smartphone, which is always annoying, but can really be the only alternative to solve this problem.

Good luck.

Are there any free VPNs that you recommend?

Android VPN User Data Security

Good night.

I would like to ask if there is any free VPN that you recommend, with no trial period or similar limitations.

If it doesn’t exist, please tell me one that is paid, but at a more affordable price.

Thanks.

Paul,

A free VPN is a huge risk to privacy and security. We can start from the premise that “nobody gives anybody anything”, and if we use something free, we immediately have to consider that someone is taking advantage of the people who connect to these VPNs. So I don’t recommend that you do it at all.

As for more affordable VPN services, well, the question of “affordable” is always subjective. It is advisable to choose between the most well-known services, which have already proven themselves, which have terms of conditions of use and privacy, both in terms of stability.

For example, VPN services like CyberGhost or NordVPN have very good feedback at all levels. You can also always try these services for a few days without commitment (generally 15 to 30 days) and end the subscription if you are not satisfied.

Therefore, I suggest that you subscribe to one of these services to check if it really suits your requirements, and then decide if it really deserves the price it costs.

How can I use Internet Explorer on Windows 11?

Goodnight

I installed Windows 11 and now lost IExplorer. How to install and activate IE without/with EDGE and how to see to select SSL and TLS?

These are doubts that I would like to ask you, because I can’t find a solution

Thanks

John,

Internet Explorer is gone for good and should not be used on Windows. Therefore, there is no way to have this browser present on your computer.

Even if you install an older version, you will be putting yourself in danger as this is an abandoned browser that no longer has security updates.

What you can do, and Microsoft recommends for these situations, is to use Edge’s IE mode, which should simulate an abandoned browser.

You can see in the article below how to do this activation and the configuration it needs:

Which Smart TV do you recommend me to buy?

Good Morning

First of all, congratulations on your work.

I need to buy a TV and I didn’t want to spend more than 200 euros. As a matter of space, it cannot be more than 32″ and the fact that it is (or is not) a smart tv will not be important, favoring more the quality of the image and the device itself.

Do you recommend a specific brand/model?

Thank you and good work

Luís,

Nowadays, it is extremely useful to always have a Smart TV at your disposal. You may not even need it at the moment, but a few days later you may regret not having bought a more advanced TV. And I say this why? Exactly because Smart TVs are very affordable, priced very close to the simplest TVs.

And the €200 margin is adequate for a 32” Smart TV. And I suggest you an excellent Smart TV, recent, modern and very complete. This is the Xiaomi Mi TV P1, which you can purchase nationwide, in dozens of stores, for a price starting at €199.

This TV, in terms of image quality and all its functioning in general, has very good feedback considering its price range. There are other options, like the TCL ES560, the Hisense A5600F or the Philips 32PHS5525, which I suggest you take a look at, but my recommendation is the first suggestion, Xiaomi’s Mi TV P1.

What’s up with SMS on my Android?

Good morning Dear Sirs,

From what I’ve seen on the Net, it has done an excellent job of information/help.

In this case I would like to ask for your help or opinion on the following:

I have a Poco M3 64 GB phone since February 2021.

Since around August/September 2021 there have been updates in the normal SMS application I have the following problem:

  • I can’t access the menu to request SMS as delivered and sometimes I don’t receive some SMS.
  • How to know or do to certify that the SMS is delivered and on time?

Thank you very much.

Compliments.

Arthur Baptista

Reply:

Artur,

There are two ways to ensure that the problem you describe disappears and that’s how the SMS is delivered perfectly, both for you and your contacts.

The first way, the simplest of all, is to opt for a new messaging app. So, and if the problem is with the app, eliminate the problem once and for all.

As it doesn’t mention what you’re using, we’re going to recommend the one that’s the default Android and Google. You can install directly from the Play Store at this link: Messages.

If the problem persists, the solution you can use is to ask for confirmation of delivery of the SMS. For this you must follow the following steps:

  • Open the app and access its settings
  • Access the Advanced option
  • Enable the Receive SMS delivery report option

Thus, you will receive a notification whenever the SMS sent is placed on the recipient’s smartphone.

How can I convert Spotify songs to MP3?

Image illustration Spotify HiFi, lossless quality music

Good morning,

Do you know any way to convert the songs from a Spotify playlist to mp3 on pc?

Thanks

Helder Azevedo

Reply:

Bright,

Although there are several tools on the Internet to convert Spotify songs to mp3 files, this process is illegal.

The solution you have, without committing any transgression or committing an illegality, is to have Spotify’s paid plan, which allows you to download songs to listen in offline mode.

Note that this way you still don’t have access to the files and you will always have to use the Spotify app to listen to the songs.

You will also have to repeat the download of the lists on each device where you want to listen in offline mode.
