Portugal registered 2,581 new infections by SARS-CoV-2 in the last 24 hours, having been reported 10 deaths associated with covid-19, indicates the daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released this Thursday, 5 August.

Today’s bulletin reports 898 inpatients, 21 fewer than yesterday. The number of patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU) is 196, eight less compared to yesterday.

DGS reports 4,747 more recoveries from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 917,367. In the last 24 hours, 923 fewer cases were registered under surveillance.

Lisbon and Tagus Valley concentrates new cases

The region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (LVT) concentrates the largest number of new cases in the last 24 hours, with 947 infected. It is followed by the North region, with 866 new cases, and the Central region, with 310 cases.

Looking at the deaths, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the Center accounted for three deaths each. Two deaths were registered in the North region in the last 24 hours.
