Porsche sells more than 20,000 Taycan electric cars

The electric segment seems to be a guaranteed bet for automotive manufacturers. In the middle of a pandemic year, Porsche achieved good results, having been among the brands with the least sales drop.

It has recently been learned that Porsche sold more than 20,000 Taycan electric cars in its first year of production!

As we followed in 2020, “premium” brands did not suffer so much from the crisis caused by the pandemic. In the European Union, from January to August, Porsche was the manufacturer with the least sales drop. According to the data, the company had an 8.5% drop having sold 34,682 units (in 2019 it sold 37,922) of vehicles (overall).

To contribute to these good numbers, there is the Taycan electric that sold more than 20 thousand units in its first year of production (more specifically 20 015). The electric car is becoming one of the brand’s best-selling models.

It should also be noted that the sales report for the first three quarters of 2020 indicated that the brand had sold 10,000 units. Despite good sales, the brand released its 2020 results today, having fallen 3% compared to 2019. However, the brand is satisfied with the results, especially with the success of its electric car.

Porsche Taycan is considered one of the great rivals of Tesla vehicles. Taycan Turbo has, in Portugal, a base price of 158 thousand euros. The Turbo S starts at 192 thousand euros. There is also the 4S version, which has less power and the price is around 110 thousand euros.
