Police Detain 15 Brawlers at Mangosteen Market

Suara.com – The South Jakarta Metro Police have arrested 15 people suspected of being involved in a brawl during Eid al-Adha at Manggis Market, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. They are currently being investigated by investigators.

The Head of Ops for the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Ruslan Idris, said that this case is currently being handled by the Setiabudi Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

“There have been 15 who have been secured. Currently, they are being investigated,” Idris told reporters, Wednesday (21/7/2021).

Idris said that until now the 15 people who were detained were still in the status of witnesses or being investigated. Investigators have not named a suspect because the investigation is still in progress.

A brawl between groups occurred in Pasar Manggis Village, Setiabudi District, South Jakarta, in the midst of the Idul Adha celebration, on Tuesday (20/7/2021) yesterday afternoon. Two suspected perpetrators were arrested by South Jakarta Metro Police officers.

The brawl at the Setiabudi Mangosteen Market involved youths from the Community Association (RW) 011 and RW 02.

The South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Azis Adriansyah, said investigators would explore the brawl that involved the different RW groups.
