Large battery, new ARM chipset: With these core pillars, the new Poco C40 should stand out from the competition in the competitive smartphone market. However, the low price should not stand in the way of performance – you can find out in the following overview which technical data the Poco C40 wants to convince with and when the Germany release is expected.

Poco C40: All specs at a glance

The Poco C40 is a 6.71-inch smartphone with a dot-drop display that aims to score with a resolution of 1,650 x 720 pixels and good brightness in all lighting conditions. The panel itself is said to be shock and weatherproof thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass and IP52 certification.

Inside the Poco C40, the JLQ JR510 is a relatively unknown chipset, which in turn provides performance with eight cores and a clock rate of up to two gigahertz, but does without a 5G modem. Depending on the variant, either three or four gigabytes of RAM are used, while the internal memory is 32 or 64 GB. The latter can be expanded to up to one terabyte via a microSD memory card if required.

On the camera side, the Poco C40 uses a dual system, which consists of a 13 MP wide-angle lens and a depth sensor with a two-megapixel resolution. According to the manufacturer, video recordings in Full HD resolution should be possible without any problems. There is also a 5 MP selfie camera on the front.

In terms of connection technology, the current 5G mobile standard is missing due to the processor mentioned at the beginning, but all other standards are included with WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. There is also a 3.5mm jack for wired headphones. The battery capacity of the Poco C40 is touted as the highlight of the smartphone at the presentation: The battery with 6,000 mAh and the energy-saving components should easily last longer periods of use before it is recharged using the supplied 10-watt charger.

Poco C40: price and release

So far, neither the parent company Xiaomi nor Poco itself has commented on a possible availability outside of the Asian market, where the C40 is available immediately. There is speculation about a possible release in summer 2022, when the smartphone will also be sold in Germany. At this point, the price should be based on the RRP in the Chinese market, where the Poco C40 is available for the equivalent of around 150 euros.
