PlayStation 5 in India is already “scalping” by authorized Sony dealers

Lack of hardware is a burning issue today. No wonder it’s spreading scalping, when the happier ones who get to hard-to-reach hardware then sell it for much higher sums to those who failed to get it. This is a huge problem, especially with graphics cards, where prices are even double. But it is far from just about graphics. Scalping also applies to some AMD processors and Sony PlayStation 5 game consoles. And as it turns out, the market situation is being abused even by some Sony authorized dealers who artificially inflate prices.

In this case, even scalpers do not get to the products at official prices, because they go out from the sellers for higher amounts. E.g. in India, the price of this console should be 49990 rupees (14700 CZK), however, for example, the seller Kalra Electronics demanded 65-75 thousand rupees (19-22 thousand CZK) for it and is far from the only authorized partner who did so here. Some have already returned prices since the outbreak, or are asking customers to lie when investigating the matter so that Sony does not lose the status of an authorized dealer. Sony was to launch an audit of the entire Indian supply chain.
